Premier League Manager And Player Of The Month Announced

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been named the Premier League's manager of the month for October.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been named Premier League manager of the month for October.

The Italian has overseen an impressive run of form that has taken Chelsea within a point of top spot, with five league wins on the bounce.

Their run of five straight wins has also been achieved without conceding a single goal in the league, scoring 11 goals in the process.

There most memorable win of the month was the crushing 4-0 victory over Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

And, if the 5-0 win over Everton at the start of the month is anything to go by, Chelsea and Conte could well be celebrating against as December draws in.

"This is the first time I’ve won the award, it’s a great honour and I want to share it with my players and the club," Conte told the club's official website.

"It’s now important we continue and maintain our form. After an international break it’s not easy to restart but we must follow our way and work very hard.

"Our next game is against Middlesbrough on Sunday, we know they are really strong and it will be a tough game, but we have prepared very well."
Eden Hazard has been crowned the Premier League's best player of the month for October.

The Belgium international has returned to form in 2016-17 having looked a shadow of the player who was indisputably the best attacker in the league when Chelsea stormed to the 2014-15 title.

Hazard kicked off October on the periphery of the Blues' 2-0 victory over Hull City - the first game in a string of five consecutive victories and clean sheets.

He took centre stage in the following clash against reigning champions Leicester City, who were trampled 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on October 15. Hazard whipped the corner in for the opener and scored the second goal.

Hazard's greatest moment of the month came against Manchester United, whom they thrashed 4-0 thanks to a stellar performance from the Belgian wing wizard.

The 25-year-old rounded off October with another goal as they defeated Southampton 2-0 at St Mary's.

Chelsea are placed second in the Premier League after 11 games and return from the international break with a visit to Middlesbrough, who have held Manchester City and Arsenal to draws in the last month.
