Super Eagles Smile To The Bank After Defeating Zambia

Following their highly impressive win over the Chipolopolo of Zambia in the opening game of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are presently smiling to the bank.

Gladdened with the turn of events in Ndola, the cash-strapped Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ensured members of the team got some of their outstanding payments right after the game, Vanguard writes.

The players received their flight ticket refunds, match bonus for the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualification dead-rubber against Tanzania last month as well as appearance fees for two international friendlies they played in May against Mali and Luxembourg.

Players involved in all three matches carted away close to $8,000 each as the Glass House looks to keep team spirit high in the course of the qualification series.

The win bonus for Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Ndola now stands as the only payment outstanding for the Eagles, who next month welcome the Fennec Foxes of Algeria in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State in continuation of the qualifiers.
